Hi Fiona, Just had to drop you and all at west coast Harley a very big thank you for the wonderful experience I and my brother had when purchasing our first Harley's from west coast Harley the whole team couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. 

Just before we left my brother and I spoke and wondered if we had made the correct decision to move from Sports bike to Harley but we set off and when we stopped for coffee at Perth we were both grinning from ear to ear and both agreed we should have made the change to Harley years ago.

The bikes are fantastically set up  and we can't wait to get some good weather to get biking again. And we will both see you at your next event or 1,000 mile service which ever is the soonest.

Dear Fiona,

Having dealt with the public in all his various guises throughout my working life, I am aware that people generally are only too ready to criticise and complain when things go wrong.

I was a "has been" biker and having reached the age of 63 I had a gap of over 20 years since I last rode a motorcycle and thought I would never achieve my life's ambition, to own a Harley.  However with my wife's kind co-operation I found that I was able to fulfil my dream and purchased a soft tail FXSTI, from yourselves on the 13th September 2011.  I had intended to take a test ride before finalising the deal with PETER SIMPSON, but on the arranged day the weather was so atrocious that I decided to go ahead with the deal and have the bike delivered to my home address.  

I foolishly thought that I could take up where I left off 20 odd years previously, so with that thought I set off on my pride and joy travelling for 20 yards before sitting on my backside in a puddle at the roadside, with the bike on top of me.

It was as if my whole world had come crashing down and dark thoughts  entered my head that I was too old to every ride a motorcycle again, but apart from a few bruises and an injured pride I was physically unhurt.

Many phone calls ensued between the Ramsey household and PETER SIMPSON, who was extremely sympathetic and supportive and encouraged me not to lose heart, but seemed to be moving heaven and earth on my behalf to find a solution to my predicament and lack of confidence.  Through his encouragement and a great deal of help from various people at the dealership, CHRIS BENTON came down in the van and we went on a ride out together to an enormous carpark locally, where he guided me through controls of the bike and helped me regain my confidence generally with the machine, with a result that I was able to go on a short trip under his guidance. 

During this time things began to click into place and I got the old adrenaline rush, (unusual at my age) and with the inimitable tone of the V- twin in my ears suddenly the world seemed a much better place.

I cannot stress enough my gratitude to you all for you patience, understanding and encouragement and for making my wife's and my first Harley experience such a happy and some ways humbling one.

I look forward to dealing with you in the future.

As per Fiona's request, I am puting my feelings in writing. This could go on forever, but I will attempt to be concise.

Eric is wonderful. He put up with me for over a year as I made up my mind which Harley was for me - not to mention the number of cups of coffee n daft phonecalls with even dafter questions.  Used his day off for me to test drive (ride) and his patience must receive all praise.  You have no idea what I put the West Coast Harley Team through.

Fiona, the voice of reason, straight talking and professional. You know you're going to get immediate attention and very sound advise.  I love, love, love my Fatboy Special.  It is ideal for me, a young fifty-five year old, check out Annie Hamilton's facebook profile, how can anyone so old look so youthful ? Answer, the Harley Davidson Fatboy Special, best and most potent form of H.R.T. (Too much information ? I hope not).

Everything was so easy with business matters. You dont need hassle after all, when you are undertaking what is one of the highest points of your life.  Never will I forget the feeling as I gazed into the shop window and saw my bike with its special little plate FB51 ANN - Fatboy Special 1 / Fatboy Stage 1, you choose. I can honestly say I felt five years old again.

The whole team is grand. Visiting the shop a pleasure.  Thankyou to all the girls looking after me from behind the counter.  Thankyou Holly for looking after my 'after sales service'. Thankyou Fraser for your sound advise on making my Fatboy  'special to me'.  Thankyou to all the guys in the back who KNOW what they are talking about and helping me get there in my own time - without making me feel like an idiot for asking!  A quality found in good teaching - and I should know lol 

Can I say that the fun just keeps on building. All the lovely goodies you have sent me. The fun of the HOG It's been like Christmas over and over again. Everyone so helpful and friendly.

Not wishing to take any of the above away, for it is all heartfelt, but the experience 'on' the bike makes all pale into insignificance somewhat, for there is no feeling like riding your own Harley and so worth the wait.

That's for contacting me and giving me the chance to express my feelings about West Coast Harley Davidson and my recent purchase and subsequent road trip.

First it was and is a pleasure to work with such a friendly, organized and professional bunch of people as the West Coast Harley Team. I am very impressed at the standard of service provided and the technical and product expertise the team demonstrated, but this aside the total environment and family atmosphere is what stands the team apart from its competition, there is a feeling of nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel they really care about the service they provide and how their customer feels, this is not just in sales but throughout the entire shop from service and parts to retail sales all good in my book.

I would like to thank the entire team for the help and support extended to me, my Heritage Softail now has an additional 2000 miles on its clock and is tucked up for the winter as I am back in Asia but I can't wait to get back out on it.

I toured the circumference of Scotland and then took the ferry to Ireland from Belfast down to Limerick then around the south coast back to Dublin, then around the middle of Eire for a few days then back to Scotland and home total 3 weeks riding highly recommended (Only got wet twice believe it or not)

Hi, I wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for the outstanding way you managed the process of trading in my Sportster for a new Wideglide.

Because I live so far North ( a 600 mile round trip to Glasgow ) the first time you actually saw the Sportster was when I arrived to take the new bike away - up to then all you had had were pictures that I had emailed to you. Despite this everything went smoothly and any small problems were quickly sorted out by Eric or Fiona.

I have had the bike home for a month now, no problems at all and despite the less than perfect weather I have done over 900 miles so far ( all dry ).

I am in the process of finalising the purchase of my 4th Harley Davidson from WCHD.  On every occasion the experience has been a pleasure.  Fiona and Peter are a great help in assisting with the choice of bike best suited to my needs, they always get it right.  It does not stop there; Fraser, Robin, and Alan have been of great assistance in advising which chrome accessories are best for the bikes I have, and have a great deal of patience when I change my mind (several times) about what I want.  I must also mention Fran and Nuala as they always greet you with a smile and make you very welcome when you walk into WCHD.

Just to say a very big "thanks" to you for organising the MOT and service on my bike today. Also for sorting my battery/starting problems so professionally via emails for two consecutive years! I'd have been lost without your expertise - shame on me! But the new trickle charger and your advice are clearly doing the trick!

I've got a few other 'toys' (at just 1,600 miles in 3 years, it can't be denied re the Sportster - ho hum!) that cost a good deal more to both buy and service, but oddly 'they' are more traumatic to get serviced too! The fact that the bike is not traumatic is entirely down to your ability to sort things so efficiently and so nicely - so my sincere thanks for that! You make riding over to Glasgow a pleasure, not a chore!

Just a short note to reccommend the full team at west coast harley, i had a sports bike before and after a "wee bump" i had pretty much given up on bikes, untill that is i visited the dealership, to be honest this place doesnt feel like a dealership, its more of a social club with bikes, the team are really close knit and easy going, there is no pressure or hassle like car show rooms, i think the general opinion is the brand sells itself, they just help you on your way, the team is headed by fiona, a fine filley with a sound knowledge of the product, needs a bit of work on her coffee skills mind :),the big fella from finance is quality too, he's been in the business since jesus was a lad in fact i actually bought his fat bob, in clothing we have wee Naula, pronounced noola, who's a fiesty young lass with a passion for the brand and a wicked sense of humour, all these members helped me secure a smashing bike with support from start to finish, even to the point of providing resus to my good lady wife who went into a state of shock in the shop due to my mid life crisis extravagance, i would reccommend them to anyone.

Folks

sorry for the delay in getting this testimonial to you.  I got my Fat Bob at the end of April, and have been spending my time riding it and looking at it, in equal measure..........so hope it's not too late to add to your testimonials pages on the web.  I came into town with a purchase of new shoes to look forward to.....passed the Harley shop on the way........and that was as far as I got!

I seen the Fat Bob and wanted one!  Took it for a test drive and that was it.  New shoes were out the window - I HAD to have the Fat Bob!!!!!!!!!!!  This is my first Harley and it is superb.

The day I picked it up was fantastic - my name was on the board, my bike sitting out on display, ready for me to collect it.  And a nice fuss was made of me - I felt like a star!

And speaking of stars..........Thanks to Fiona for EVERYTHING!  Knowledge, advice - the lot!  Even managed to get me the colour I wanted.

And thanks to Chris as well for all his assistance. :)

Its a rare thing today to take someone at there word more so when its over the phone when you are in Suffolk and the people you are buying from are in Scotland...well lets just say that from the first call to Westcoast Harley I was happy with the welcome i had and the straight talk about the bike i wanted. The staff at the dealership are great... even though we had a problem with a bank transfere the bike was sent off for delivery to suffolk and that was without me even seeing it in the flesh or getting in the saddle... however things got sorted the bike was delivered as arranged by a really nice guy who made sure everthing was right..... I took off up the road and the old feeling just came straight back in the bones.... it felt like i had never left the saddle.... the bike was just as the dealers had said ...... clean and mean .... Eric it was a plsure to deal with you ...Fiona thanks for evrything and the chocs in the welcome bag..... sorry i live so far away or i would be a regular at you door.... Having been a loyal customer of West Coast Harley-Davidson for many years, there was only one place to go for my new Fat Boy - West Coast!

As is always the case, I found the standard of service just excellent, which is something I've now come to expect.  Fiona and the team dealt with my initial enquiries about the 2011 range very comprehensively indeed, giving me good advice along the way in relation to choice of accessories, etc.  Eric was just brilliant, as usual, and both Caroline and Lorna were really helpful when I was finalising the formalities towards the delivery date.  All in all, a very satisfying and enjoyable experience from West Coast and Fiona's warm and friendly manner wraps it all up nicely. To cap it all, the new Fat Boy is just Brilliant.

Hi Fiona,

Just wanted to say thanks for your courtesy call yesterday reminding me that's it's been almost a year since I purchased my new Dyna Super Glide Custom from you.

That day in July 2010 I was all set to buy a 2nd hand bike when you explained the cost benefits and advantages of a new bike purchase, and once you took the time to show me the extensive range of models you had available my heart was set on the shiny red Super Glide..! Once they've made the sale some business's take the foot of the pedal and some of the follow-up service can fall short of expectations. Not WCHD....! As I paused and deliberated the week after about which accessories I wanted you looked after me and special thanks to yourself, Eric, and Caroline as you guided me through the process of completing the sale and handing over my cash !

But the great service didn't stop there. When John turned up in the van with my bike a week later I could and sat and chatted to him about bikes all day. Holly efficiently helped me out with my first service and more recently Fraser took the time out on a very busy Saturday to explain Stage 1 & 2 to me and help me choose the best options available.

And last but definitely not least of course the amazing Nuala in Motorclothes who has combined sheer professionalism and passion for Harley-Davidson, with a true honest approach in clothing sales by guiding me towards those purchases I really do feel good in. Her customer service skills are truly excellent.

Every time I come into WCHD I feel at home and enjoy not only the service and attention but the genuine friendliness and helpfullness. My own job is 100% customer service and I really appreciate experiencing such excellent service myseIf. I truly now feel part of the West Coast family and wish you all the very best.

I am glad you wrote because I was wanting to send you a little note to say thank-you.

I had a wonderful experience in Scotland and will recommend it to anyone I speak to.  I honestly have never travelled such great roads for a motorcycle and the countryside is beautiful with the scenery having such dramatic changes in such little distances.  You would have to travel great distances in Canada to see so many varying scenes and climates?? I loved it!


To top it all off, your service was second to none.  You were the icing on the cake! LOL

I am already trying to figure out how I can spend some time again in Scotland to go for another ride.  I would like to bring my daughter with me next time.  So don't be surprised to hear from me next spring or even before the end of summer this year!

I am now a proud owner of a Softail Rocker 'C' which I have taken a lot of stick over from my work colleagues. The words 'mid life crisis' echo in my ears, who knows, but I am certainly smiling!!!

Hi Guys

Huge thanks to all at West Coast Harleys. After a 12 year absence from biking, and all on lightweight Jap bikes, I purchased my very first Harley....a beautiful, pristine condition 54 plate XL1200C Sportster with only 1350 miles on the clock.

I was very nervous at first as I bought it without even seeing it, but I was told that buying a Harley makes you part of a family and you will always be looked after. I was not wrong. Setting of from Bishop Auckland at 7am in the train I was wondering what have I let myself in for, but as soon as I had stepped into West Coast Harley all fears were banished by a truly wonderful experience. The staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful...nothing was a problem. Sorry I never got to meet you Chris, but Damien and Lauren done a cracking job in getting me sorted. And after a brief spell getting used to the bike I was off, straight onto the M8 motorway heading for the open road with the biggest grin you will ever see, and the journey which only takes 3 hrs in my car took 5 hrs on the Harley......well the sun was shining and I was having so much fun that a little detour here and there was the order of the day.......

Thanks for making an 'oldish' boy very happy.

I recently purchased a new Harley Davidson 883 Sportster Iron from West Coast and would like to say how much i enjoyed the experience.

I started by filling in an interest form on your website and shortly after this, Fiona contacted me to answer the questions i had and invite me to the dealer for a look around. I could not have been made more welcome by Fiona and all the other staff and was very impressed with the dealer facilities and the depth of knowledge and enthusiasm about all things Harley. The test ride experience was superb and i came back to the dealer knowing i had to have a new Harley.

Chris was excellent at sorting out the finance options and answering all queries and the welcome back when i finally came to pick up the bike and sign the paperwork was extremely good and i left on the bike safe in the knowledge i had bought the right bike from the right dealer. The points i accrued from purchasing the stage one kit for the bike even gave me enough for a new crash helmet!

As for the bike itself well what can i say............absolutely fantastic!!!

I bought a Sportster 48 ex-demo and dealt with Damien throughout the sale and over the months before the bike became available. Credit where credit is due.  Great after sales service from Holly, Robin and all service staff at WCHD.  Buying my second bike from WCHD proved to be a little more problematic than the first.  Unfortunately it developed a few faults, but these things happen and were unforeseen and in my opinion it's how the faults are dealt with that sorts the good and the bad dealers.  I am delighted to say that WCHD were excellent and nothing seemed too much trouble for the after sales team. Everything that anyone could have reasonably asked for was done to fix the bike quickly, along with as little inconvenience for me as possible.
WCHD get my vote for brilliant after sales service and when it's time for a trade in - I will definitely be returning for my next bike.

I was the ultimate sceptic but on returning to West Coast I was hooked.

Fiona, Damien and Chris were very helpful and I was impressed with the way they didn't pressure you into a purchase or no purchase decision. The West Coast Shop is in my opinion one of the best stocked and presented bike shops I have seen and the standard of their used Harley's is outstanding.

Sitting here in the office working late waiting on Scottish Power reinstating power to site and thought I would check out WCHD website - again !!!.
 
After reading many, many great testimonials about new bike sales I thought it would be nice to add something about the after sales service you get from WCHD.
 
I bought my Road King Classic Anniversary model in 2003 and still have same bike. The service I get to this day is as good, if not better than the day I bought the bike no matter what I'm in the shop for, whether its parts, add-ons, servicing or the usual visits with my wife to the clothing department. Even when I occasionally enquire about a possible new bike I am never pressurised into buying which is evident in the fact I still have the same bike after 7 yrs. Everyone in this dealership has an excellent attitude to customer service. You just cannot fault it anywhere.
 
Recently had to have some repairs done to the bike when it wouldn't start after the long winter storage. Bike was picked up exactly when they said it would be at 09:30hrs on a Sat morning by one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Parts were ordered, bike repaired, serviced and MOT'd and because of the higher than normal cost they wouldn't charge for the pick-up, as well as giving me greatly discounted parts and labour. They actually sounded sorry they had to charge me at all. !!! Seriously !!!
I was kept fully informed of what was happening throughout and everything was ready for pick up following Sat. which is the only day I can manage to get to dealer. They even offered to deliver the bike to me. You just don't get that kind of service anywhere else.
 
With regards the clothing dept I always get an honest opinion when buying something. They even know what size my wife is. I DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT. ??? 
At Xmas I think all the female staff came over and offered their advice on a gift for my wife and got the size spot on. Brilliant !!
They always tell me if its not suited to what I want and will offer an alternative and not necessarily more expensive.
 
The parts Dept are always very helpful and will search for anything you care to ask about through numerous catalogues and make sure you get exactly what you want. Even if it's not Harley they will get it for you and advise on best options for your bike stating the plus and negatives of what you buy.
 
Then there are the open days - great fun and the staff all get really involved in whatever the event is, Xmas, Easter, general open fun days - you name it they are all into it.
 
Hopefully that helps anyone who is thinking of or has just bought from WCHD that you will get the same level of service from them many yrs after your purchase.

I had an issue with the bike and spoke to holly who calmly gave suggestions and arranged  a repair, all within a day. From the first initial contact by phone from Northern Ireland to discuss the Harley we had seen on line, we feel we have been treated as valued potential customers. I just wanted to drop you a quick line and let you know about my recent experience buying a Harley from your Dealership.
 
I dealt with Fiona Rutherford on the recommendation of my friend David Cooper (a past customer of yours), and she was totally fantastic from start to finish. I bought the bike without actually seeing it personally - I found it on the internet and took a chance that it was what I wanted. Fiona described it in great detail, was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the modifications and extras, arranged the finance for me, and she even ran upstairs with the phone and started it up for me so I could hear how it sounded!!
 
I wasn't the easiest of buyers - personal circumstances meant that I couldn't take delivery immediately, and Fiona agreed to keep hold of it for me until I could make arrangements. She was so patient and understanding throughout, she really made the whole experience easy. She is such as asset to your Dealership and I'd recommend anyone to deal with her.
 
The bike came yesterday and was just as described. Fiona had told me about the very few scuffs and scratches and it was just as she'd said. I'm so excited and very happy!!

Just a brief follow up to our recent correspondence.
After a series of discussions with Robin re the Buell I eventually managed to get it into your workshop for upgrade modification and fuel deposit problems after two failed attempts which were solely of my making.
Gardening !!!!!!!        I managed to put my back out so was out of action
for a wee while!
Holly in Service Reception could not have been more understanding and helpful throughout my self inflicted inaction.
Your Service Team despite having computer problems managed the upgrade very speedily and tried the Harley tech advised part replacement in an attempt to correct the fuel dump through the vent pipe which since the warmer ambient weather surprisingly has been less?? with vapour exiting from the vent but possibly due to the higher ambient not condensing  in a puddle on the floor and also I subsequently discovered to my conversations with Robin that if I parked the bike in the garage on its sidestand rather than vertically on a paddock stand it did not drip so much fuel!
.Any way, hopefully our problems (entirely through the efforts of your staff and your own good offices, which are very sincerely appreciated,) are concluded regarding the Buell, as I may have fallen in love once again!!!!!
Holly kindly organised a loan bike to keep me entertained and mobile while the Buell was being attended to.
This was my first experience of a real Harley in 52 years of motorcycles and innumerable bikes.
I was apprehensive at first, particularly it town traffic, and to say hated this strange new experience, would perhaps be too strong, but one gets the
picture,       BUT      as possibly frequently happens with those that have
never ridden a Harley, getting out of town and "cruising the M8" even at relatively slow speeds, things began to improve and take on new meaning and strangely I was ENJOYING(?) this new experience!
When I got back to your dealership I had some time to spend whilst the Buell was completed and spent some time "looking (with a different attitude)  at Harleys in your showroom where Damien and Eric were considerate, helpful, and above all listening and commutative and insisted I should try my preferred Harley before then making a better informed decision.
Within minutes of riding your demo XR1200 it just felt and handled so much more to my liking than I ever experienced (unfortunately) on the Buell.
With your and Eric's much sincerely appreciated help I was back at West Coast  Harley the next day to collect "My Harley" I even came home the long way round via Loch Lomand and the Rest, etc. rather than ferry just so I could enjoy this newfound experience longer.

I hired a Sportster for my Dad last weekend and wanted to personally thank you for the fantastic customer service and genuine warmth in ensuring he had an enjoyable first experience on a Harley. Although eh sportster was a little short for him we had a brilliant time riding the west coast from Glasgow to Fort William, Oban, Inverrary and back to Glasgow. The weather was kind to us and the roads and scenery were breathe taking.
 
My Dad dropped some additional gear off tonight and was very positive about the welcome and kindness he received from yourself and the staff (including dropping my Mum off in town). I am trying to encourage him to part exchange his bandit for a Harley.
 
When I come to trade my Dyna Low 100th anniversary in for a Road king I will be in touch because good customer service is hard to find and once found it deserves loyalty. 
Many thanks again for contributing to a great weekend of riding. I did 1200 miles from Friday to Monday and enjoyed every minute - even the A1 on the way home to Suffolk.

Just wanted to say how delighted I am with my new bikes.  It has taken me a little time to adjust to the Dyna, as it's a lot different to the sports bikes that I've been used to in the past, but I'm looking forwards to getting to know it better and putting some serious miles on it over the summer.  I certainly didn't expect to be upgrading my XR so soon after buying the Dyna either, but the deal you offered was just too tempting to turn down.  The XR is a great bike, and I'm delighted to be starting the summer with a brand new one again.
 
Can I just say, in terms of both bikes, that I've been really happy with the service from West Coast.  Any concerns about getting the bikes set up as I wanted were unwarranted, as communication has been first class and all my requests were dealt with promptly.  This was important to me.  I think your staff must be the friendliest bunch of any dealership that I've visited and I look forwards to dropping in for a few more bits and pieces over the summer.

We would like to thank you very much for our inspiring visit to your dealership this afternoon.
We are so grateful for the opportunity you gave us to chat to you both and see the bikes and accessories first hand. The experience has left us with a much deeper and lasting impression of the company, as well as a greater admiration for the product and quality of service you provide for your customers. The showroom and garage felt alive with its own unique personality and we could feel the buzz and passion from customers and staff.
It was very evident that you have built up deep and personal relationships with the bikers who come into the dealership and we think your friendly and helpful approach has a significant impact on your ability to retain existing customers.
From my own personal perspective speaking to Brian, one of your customers outside, and feeling the passion he has for his Harley, made me want to take my licence and buy a Harley once I graduate and get my life back. I stood on the sidewalk us he rode off and wished I could go with him on the back of his bike. All the girls were excited when we returned and when we spoke to the other students back at the Uni they were all jealous of our experience.
We wish you all the best and hopefully some of us will return to become customers in the future (even if it's only to buy a t-shirt at this stage).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the staff at WCHD for your help in the recent purchase of my new Softail Heritage its BRILLIANT.  This is the second bike I have bought from WCHD each time the purchase becomes easer to part with my hard earned cash (Well almost!)

I have to say the staff's welcoming approach and product knowledge is excellent, the endless cups of coffee is maybe not as excellent especially when you have a long drive home, thank goodness for lay-bys!

Having the bike delivered right to the front door was appreciated, as the weather was really miserable on the day I was due to pick my bike up (this must be the understatement of the week)I believe your delivery driver's name is John (I was too busy smiling at the sight of my new bike in the back of his van when he introduced himself) he was one of the most helpful people I have met and very knowledgeable about Harleys.

The upgraded pipes were a must and they just increase the great sound of the Harley's big twin.  I must commend your workshop for a nice tidy job fitting the stage one.

The sound of the pipes is that good one of my neighbours came across one morning at 7:30am in his pyjamas to comment on the sound, he was so impressed he called the Police so they could hear them as well!

I look forward to seeing you at the parts counter on my birthday, my wife's birthday, my son's birthday, Christmas etc etc etc etc.
